Begur

Begur is one of the most charming towns in Empodá, on the Costa Brava.

Bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, it is strategically located between Barcelona, ​​Girona and the French border.

In Begur we can differentiate 2 areas:

Historic center presided over by the medieval castle and with multiple attractions such as the Indian houses and medieval defense towers. In the town you can find restaurants and shops for all tastes.

Beaches:     

Platja del Racó- Illa Roja- Sa Riera (5min by car from the town)

Aiguafreda- Sa Tuna (10 min by car from the town)

Platja Fonda- Fornells- Aiguablava (10 min by car from the town)

In Begur, apart from enjoying the incredible beaches and coves of the Costa Brava, you can discover the coast by walking along the paths around Ronda. If you like hiking, there are itineraries for all levels, from simple ones for the whole family to the most demanding.

You can’t miss trying the gastronomic specialties of the area such as rock fish and rice dishes. Sweets such as xuxo and brunyols (fritters) are also typical and you should not leave without having tasted them.

A few kilometers away you will find medieval towns such as Pals, Peratallada, Monells ... well worth a visit. Also within walking distance are some of the best beaches on the Costa Brava such as Tamariu. Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, Playa de Pals or Castell and La Fosca in Palamós.

It is also very interesting to visit the city of Girona with its beautiful cathedral and well-preserved medieval neighborhood, Figueras where the Dalí or Cadaqués Museum is located, which is one of the most picturesque towns on the Costa Brava.
